International Week of Happiness at Work
"There is no path to happiness; happiness is the path." Buddha
Happiness is an enduring state of mind that isn't only made up of the feeling of joy, contentment and other positive emotions, but also of a sense that ones life is meaningful and valued (Lyubomirsky, 2001).
Everyone one wants to be happy, even at work. It is important to have a sense of control and autonomy over your work life as on average we spend over 90,000 hours at work over our lifetime.
International week of happiness at work raises awareness of several actions to help improve happiness at work, which brings positive effects on their health, well-being and productivity. Happiness is the key to success in life. Positive emotions promote creativity, well-being, bonding and physical health.
In our running club everyone's well-being is paramount. For some spending time in nature, exercising and breaking a sweat is a fantastic way to find happiness, therefore a run with Skelmersdale running club can turn even the worst days into a good day.
